If you get paid for your writing, then you are a professional writer. There are no other requirements. If you want to work for a newspaper as a journalist, then you will need a degree in journalism. Otherwise as a good friend of mine once said, if you want to write, then write.

I'm 17, I have a story idea (knowing that I'm young and that one idea is not an actual acheivement) Is it truly necassary to have colledge to become a proffesional writer? I know I am not the best just because of how many times I've used the backspace key... but English four in highschool to me seems acceptable for pro. writing. Is it?

If I remember correctly what a vet told me many years ago for dark chocolate 1 oz consumed per pound of dog can be fatal. Thus a fairly small dark chocolate bar could kill a little 5 lb Yorkie or such. For our Newfs of say 150 pounds that's 9.375 pounds of chocolate. Not sure even a Newf could consume that much. This is not to say we don't need to be careful around our Newfs, I'm sure a lesser amount could make them very sick.

Since I too am a lover of soft butter I keep my precious butter in the cabinet so toast and garlic bread can be sloushed with soft spreading butter & not refrigerated butter unless is hot and humid days in mid summer. I have never had to worry about our beloved Saint Bernard eating butter for she knew who could be the "witch of New Jersey" if animals came too close to human food. I did fear that GEORGE our pet Tarantula might escape from his cage and travel to cabinets in search of food other than crickets but George was a good pet and stayed where he belonged cause he knew that the human Alpha of the house could & would "do him in" if he so much as got one fang out of his cage. Annie should work for the Secret Police as she would be great at that.

LOL!!!! You have described our Oreo to a "T." That includes putting butter and other tasty/snackie objects inside the Microwave. At least I know we are not alone.

Laughing hysterically here! That's some visual... I have to admit that I am a huge fan of Annie (aka she beast, butter eating ferret dog and I'm sure a few not fit for family veiwing). Love the tales of the Donahue dogs; please keep them coming.

Very interesting to learn from younger son that he is now old and totally benign to intellect of a dog smaller than he is. Dog should be taught to act like a dog and not like a ferret or a cat. Seems that crazy dog is now matriach of the Donahue home as mother in New Hampshire wonders about sanity of her younger son since dog seems the most sane at the moment.
